Who I Am

Known as Antigua's Reggae Ambassador, after years of representing the reggae music genre at home and abroad.

Armed with his magnetic persona, Causion continues to perform his brand of reggae which sustains the original beat known for its peace and love. He has opened for Third World, the original ‘Reggae Ambassadors’, on their tours throughout North and Central America, the Caribbean, UK and the African continent.

Over the years, he has also toured with some of reggae's best and brightest artists such as Rita Marley, Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor and Judy Mowatt, giving stellar performances every time. He was part of the 'Tribute to Garnet Silk Tour’ across the Caribbean along with Lt. Stichie, Merciless and Professor Nuts. Causion was honoured as the first Antiguan Reggae artist to perform at Jamaica's REGGAE Sumfest, sharing the stage with Buju Banton, Mikey Spice and Mykal Rose among other luminaries.

Causion has headlined many shows such as the Moja Arts Festival and the Wadadli Music Festival, each time taking the stage to thousands of screaming fans. He has shared the stage with Richie Stephens at the Calgary Reggae Festival in Canada. He also appeared at the Bob Marley Music Festival in Washington DC, Bob Marley Day in Camden, New Jersey, Reggae Cari-Fest in New York, Third World: A Night of Reggae Music Under The Stars in Florida, Sweet Cry Freedom in Antigua and the Mega Youth Tour of the Virgin Islands with R&B Sensation Monica along with Silk.

When he’s not touring, Causion is busy in his home studio working on cuts for his albums. Three of which have already generated hits. His most recent single ‘Thank You’ was written a year before it was released, while he was experiencing a difficult situation. Little did he know how significant this song would be, as he was about to face the most challenging trial of his life, to battle stage 3 colon cancer. ‘Thank you’ helped Causion to stay focus, “keeping his eyes on the prizes” of life, loved ones and music! He has released ‘Mission in Progress EP’. This EP is poised to be a sure hit and will contain tracks such as the singles ‘Come on Baby’ and ‘Thank You’ which have received extensive airplay. Causion's musical growth is evident with each album. "I try to better myself with each album, and whether I write the song or not, there must be a positive message portrayed," says Causion.

Causion's previous three albums, ‘Time Will Tell’, ‘One Life to Live’, and ‘Stella's Kids’ are timeless. These albums feature tracks such as ‘Intimidation’, ‘Born to Be Dread’, ‘Get To Know Jah’, ‘Glad You are Mine’ and the controversial track, ‘Little Secrets’. His lyrical genius makes him appealing to both younger and seasoned generations.

Born Gregory Colin Bailey in the beautiful twin-island nation of Antigua & Barbuda, and hailing from a family of established musicians, Causion did not have to search far for support or inspiration. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be a professional musician and has decisively and strategically worked towards enhancing his musical career.

Today, this charismatic performer is still bursting with the same intense emotions as when he started his career. Aside from his family, Causion's biggest passion and joy come from his music. His deep social and conscious lyrics are filled with appealing messages which blend today's reggae, soul and pop with the music of yesteryear.

Causion was the creator and organizer of the Wadadli Music Fest. The free festival’s goal was to highlight and display local talents of Antigua and Barbuda, giving them the opportunity to showcase their artform. Causion the philanthropist also ensured the festival gave back even more to his home, by including a ‘bring a can and come’ charity initiative that gave to those in need.

Causion formed a charity called ‘Thank You Mission’, a passion focused on growing a powerful community of people to help him and other musicians fight the war against cancer and other illnesses. He continues to tell his story, hear the stories of others, spread awareness on the importance of health and wellness, and help in any way he can.

With a career that takes him around the globe and to new heights of achievement and accomplishment, Causion remains humble, grounded and firmly rooted in his principles. "I continue to pray to the Father to keep my feet grounded and my head out of the clouds, regardless of where this journey takes me...to keep me physically, emotionally, spiritually and musically entwined."

In 2022, Causion and Elite released their debut collaborative effort, Antigua Me Come From.  The song quickly became a staple at international travel and trade shows, and local events like Antigua carnival and Sailing Week.

The following year, Causion and Elite released the Caribbean Vacation, which has become one of the best performing Caribbean music videos of all time with over one million views on YouTube and tens of thousands of views on Elite’s viewing platforms.

In 2024, following his collaborations with Elite Island Resorts, and a lifetime of musical accomplishment, the government of Antigua and Barbuda honored Causion by bestowing the title of Commander of the Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage—one of the country’s highest national awards.

His charm, charisma and energetic performances continue to entertain fans the world over. It is with much anticipation that we wait to see what is next from Causion, Antigua's Reggae Ambassador.
